PROJECT HYDRO
sustainable development goals 6, 9, 12 &13
Our water project codenamed Project Hydro helps to provide clean and accessible water for deprived communities.
2 billion people globally live without safe, managed drinking water services. In Africa, 844 million people do not have access to clean and safe water, while 37% of those live in sub-Saharan Africa.
Out of this number, 159 million people drink water directly from surface sources such as streams or lakes, and 1 in 3 African citizens are impacted by water scarcity. On average, 400 million people in sub-Saharan Africa lack access to basic drinking water.
Sadly, the lack of safe and accessible water costs Africa a significant portion of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Moreover, access to clean water and poverty are interlinked; thus, lack of access to water will drive the continent away from achieving its sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Since most people in Africa are agriculture-dependent, and it serves as their primary source of income, urgent action needs to be taken.
THE STRATEGY
How We Do It.
DRINKING WATER
Water Treatment, Borehole Provision & Water Systems Using Clean Energy.
We provide clean and accessible water to communities for drinking, household, and firm use to help prevent water-borne diseases that have wreaked havoc in Africa.
IRRIGATION
Irrigation
We at AYNAT, as an agritech and climatech organization, strive to ensure that farmers in Africa have access to adequate water for their irrigation. We do this by tapping into existing water sources using technology to ensure efficient water consumption or usage on their farms.
